Rosatom company to receive $800 million loan for Akkuyu NPP construction in Turkey

Sberbank has opened two credit lines of 500 and 300 million rubles to JSC Akkuyu Nuklear (refers to the state corporation "Rosatom") for the construction of the nuclear power plant "Akkuyu" in Turkey, the press service of the bank said.

The financing is provided for 7 years. The borrower will use the money to build four units of the plant.

"In 2019, Sber became the first lender to Rosatom's large-scale project to build a modern nuclear power plant in Turkey. <...> The new credit lines worth 800 million dollars that we opened this year allow Sber to maintain its leading position among lenders to this major international project of Rosatom," said Anatoly Popov, Deputy Chairman of Sberbank's Management Board.

In the summer of 2019, the bank already provided a $400 million seven-year loan for Akkuyu Nuklear.
