The Altai Krai to increase exports of pasta and grains

45

The Altai Krai will send a request to the Ministry of Agriculture to support the export of grain products, said yesterday at a meeting of the interdepartmental commission of the Ministry of the Governor of Altai Krai Alexander Karlin.

"We believe this to be a broader, but more appropriately oriented agenda. Altai Krai has a large resource of pasta, flour and grain products. If a state program to provide support measures for these exports, it will give great socio-economic effects and allow to produce more surplus product in the territory of the country," said the head of the region.

He made this proposal in response to a statement by the Director of the Department of Agriculture, mechanization, application of chemicals and plant protection of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Petr Chekmarev that the Ministry of Agriculture was involved in developing a program to increase grain exports to 50 million tons per year.

"Alexander Tkachev (Agriculture Minister) gave a long-term answer, we have brought grain exports to 50 million tons, but it will last more than one year. The Russian President plans to develop a program for the development of grain production up to 2030 in order to produce 130-150 million tons of grain," said the official.

According to Chekmarev the calculations for the resources necessary for implementing this project: engineering, mineral fertilizers, plant protection products and grain storage areas.
