Stavropol company "Manych" has exported more than 900 tons of wool to India, Bulgaria and Uruguay since the beginning of the year, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.

The head of the company, Valery Rusanovsky, noted that Manych has been cooperating with partners from these countries for more than 15 years. "These are our proven clients. They are all wool processors and trust the quality of Stavropol supplies. By the end of the year, we plan to supply more than 1 thousand tons of wool to these countries, as exports contribute to increased demand and higher prices for raw materials of the sheep industry," he said.

As one may recall, the Stavropol region is the major producer of fine and half-fleece wool in Russia. Now there are 13 wool exporting companies in the region. In 2021 agrarians produced 4.2 thousand tonnes of wool. By 2025, there are plans to increase production to 7 thousand tons.
