Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who won this year's Oscar for Best Actor, posted a photo of a statue made in Yakutia in his installation. The day before it was reported that the "Oscar" from Yakutia was given to the actor. The initiator of the project emphasized that even if DiCaprio does not react to the gift, it will not affect the attitude of his fans.

In a comment to the published picture DiCaprio thanked Yakut residents, and especially women, who voluntarily donated their jewelry for melting.

The actor also recalled that Yakutia is extremely vulnerable to climate change.

Statuette from Yakutia was fully prepared for the day of the Oscars in the U.S., which was held on February 28. The author of the award was jeweler Ruslan Neustroyev.
