Stores increased sales of alcohol under their own brands by 20% for the year

Retail chains increased sales of alcohol under their own brands (CTM) by more than 20% over the year. This was reported by Vedomosti with reference to NielsenIQ research.

The highest growth in this segment was demonstrated by beer which sales increased by 39% in money terms and by 35% in physical terms.

According to Rosalkogolregulirovanie, total retail sales of spirits during the first nine months of this year remained at the same level as a year ago. At the same time, retail sales of alcohol under STM have increased. For example, Pyaterochka's own-brand trade in such foams increased by 45% from January to November.

Beer today, according to Alexei Andreev, a partner of the branding agency Depot, is a "successful category" for the promotion of STM. He said that many companies use the same equipment and the quality of private label products is comparable with branded goods. At the same time, the cost of the latter is 8-10% lower.

Sales of strong alcoholic beverages under the brand name are also increasing, the newspaper writes. For example, sales of such gin increased by 28%, rum - by 15%, whiskey - by 14%.
