Sobyanin: Moscow in 2021 compensated for the economic damage of the pandemic
In Moscow, economic recovery in 2021 fully compensated the damage from the pandemic, said the mayor of the city Sergei Sobyanin.
"Last year was expectedly difficult, the total losses and additional costs amounted to about 800 billion rubles, but already this year the economic recovery has fully compensated the damage incurred," he said, speaking with a report to the Moscow City Council.
According to him, in 2021 the budget is expected to grow by more than 20% compared to the pre-crisis level of 2019.
The mayor also said that the development budget had been increased and amounted to about 40% of the expenditure part, also the budget provides for a 9% increase in social spending, laid funds for the indexation of salaries of public sector employees and social payments.
