In Russia, by 2025, the market for online grocery shopping will exceed 1 trillion rubles, according to analysts from AliExpress Russia and the Center for Expertise and Integrated Models (CEM).

According to experts, at the moment online accounts for no more than 1% of the total market for products. At the end of the outgoing year 300 billion rubles, by 2023 the figure can grow to 500-600 billion.

According to analysts, the growth could contribute to the legalization of online sales of alcohol, the development of online sales categories of fresh and ultra fresh.

Market growth is currently happening at the expense of Moscow and St. Petersburg. However, there are other promising regions for geographical expansion, such as Sverdlovsk Region, Krasnodar and Primorsky Krais, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
