A new nutrunner system will be installed at the Kamaz engine plant

A new system of direct-type electric wrenches will be installed at the Kamaz engine plant. The equipment will make it possible to monitor the tightening process to improve connection quality, the company's press service said.

The Sigma system at the V8 engine assembly line will be replaced by an Atlas Copco system. They have now installed the two systems in step 270, torqueing the five bolts on the right side and the five bolts on the left side of the cylinder block.

At the moment, the program for automatic operation of the conveyor is being worked out and the automatic mode is being fine-tuned. A five-spindle system for tightening the tie bolts is already in manual mode.

"The process of setting up the equipment is a long one. It requires a fairly scrupulous approach to the moments and quality requirements that are specified in the terms of reference. As soon as we achieve this, we can say that the work is completed and the conveyor works," said Sergey Lebedev, Chief Technical Development Specialist of the plant.

Once put into operation, the new system will ensure parameter control, which will have a positive effect on the quality of the products and allow continuous monitoring of compliance with the engine assembly specifications.
