Finn Flare is the first foreign clothing company to launch its own production in Russia, the Kommersant newspaper reported.

Head of the company Kseniya Ryasova said that Finn Flare's own production will be launched in Moscow in May 2016. The design capacity of the workshop with the area of 500 square meters is estimated at 40 to 60 thousand units of assortment per year. The site is preparing to serve the needs of only the brand. The company has invested 12 million rubles from its own funds into the launch of production. In the future it can expand its production capacity through project financing from the bank.

Finn Flare analysts have calculated that the launch of the own shop will lead to a 20-25% reduction in the cost of production due to the elimination of currency fluctuations and elimination of customs duties. Local production should meet about 30% of the company's demand for dresses, skirts, blouses, jackets and outerwear in the Russian market.

Agency Fashion Consulting Group notes that now it is difficult for large foreign and sometimes Russian brands to find suitable partners to place orders in the local market. However, they are not in a hurry to launch their own large-circulation production, as supplies from Bangladesh, China and the Philippines are often cheaper. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is gradually addressing this problem. It is negotiating the localization of production with Zara and H&M.

The Finn Flare brand was founded in Finland in 1965, five years after the foundation of the factory of the same name. At the end of the 1990s, Ksenia Ryasova began supplying clothes of this brand to Russia, and then acquired the entire Finn Flare business. Today, the chain has 150 stores in Russia. 54 of them are franchise stores.
