Poll: the majority of Russians in 2021 traveled to Russia
Over 70% of Russians last year traveled in Russia, with the greatest increase in demand for flights to Kaluga, Makhachkala and Nizhny Novgorod, according to research service "Tinkoff Travel.
In addition, increased demand for flights to Makhachkala (plus 47%), Barnaul and Nalchik (plus 28%), Ulyanovsk and Cheboksary (plus 22%), as well as 18% to Gelendzhik and 16% to Kaliningrad, writes TASS.
The destinations, where Russians bought more than a thousand tickets last year, were taken into account.
However, Moscow, St. Petersburg and the resorts of Krasnodar and the Crimea were the most popular. At the same time, the inflow of new travelers to these regions in 2021 was not observed after a strong increase in demand last year. The number of purchased tickets, for example, in Simferopol in 2021 decreased by 9% compared with 2020, writes the agency.
The research is based on data from the Tinkoff Travel service and the results of a survey conducted last December in the Tinkoff app among 22,000 residents of Russian regions aged 18 and older.
