Passenger traffic of Russian airlines in 2021 increased by 61.8% compared to 2020, Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev said in a report to the president.

According to him, airlines transported 112 million passengers, of which 89 million were domestic flights.

The Minister noted that the volume of subsidies for air travel in 2022 will amount to 27.5 billion rubles. This will enable to transport about 5 million passengers. Moreover, 68% of funds will be used to expand the route network in the Far Eastern Federal District, he stressed.
