Cheese dairies, wine and oysters: the governor of Sevastopol told about the development of author's cuisine

Tourist attractiveness of Sevastopol against the background of pandemic restrictions only began to grow. The annual growth of holidaymakers to the coastal city is 10%, said the governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozzhayev at the Gaidar Forum. According to the results of last year there were 650 tourists and two million sightseers here.

Tourism is a strategic priority for Sevastopol, so special attention is paid to tourism facilities and the development of comfortable accommodation, said the governor. However, one more direction, which has become particularly popular - it is the author's cuisine.

How exactly is developing this segment in the region - read in our article.

UNIQUE WINE

Administration of Sevastopol understands that every tourist is interested in local cuisine along with beautiful nature and tourist attractions, said Razvojaev.

"Cuisine should be regional, because the tourist is always interested to try something he can't try at home or rarely sees in his region. Sevastopol has strong destinations. We are now trying to institutionalize them, support and develop them as much as possible", - he said.

First of all, it's about vineyards, which occupy six thousand hectares in the region: here is agro-farm "Balka", Inkerman factory of vintage wines and more than 20 wineries, which produce a unique and collectible wine.

Some owners of such farms open restaurants at the wineries. Table in these places, according to the governor, booked a month in advance.

Now one more project called "Wine Road" is being implemented in Sevastopol. It involves the organization of tours of local wineries, where tourists will be able to taste the author's wine and local cuisine.

BLACK SEA OYSTERS AND FISH

"The second story is the regional cuisine that should accompany the wine. This is also cheese dairies, which began to actively develop, this and the Black Sea fish. Another direction is aquaculture. Today we have more than 10 oyster and mussel farms, which are actively developing and receiving support", - continued the governor.

Today in the city for the development of 565 hectares of coastal areas, of which 400 hectares have already transferred to the enterprises of aquaculture.

"Black Sea oyster in terms of taste, as foreign experts say, is higher than the Mediterranean, because the salinity of the sea is lower and the oyster grows with a special taste. Today this production is already actively cultivated and delivered to restaurants and for wine tastings", - noted Razvozzhaev.

In Sevastopol, you can also taste mullet and horse mackerel. Many restaurants collaborate with local fishermen, so the menu often features "Catch of the Day" dishes, when the food is prepared from the fish caught on the same day, the governor added.
