Andrey Lobanov's programming school has launched a social network for children from all over the world

The international programming school "Algorithmica", created by Russian Andrey Lobanov, has launched a social network "Hall of Fame" for children and teenagers from all over the world, the press service of the school informed the editorial board of "Made in Russia".

Already, about 300 thousand users from 66 countries have registered in the social network. All its functionality has been translated into 13 languages.

In the new virtual space, the projects of the students of "Algorithmics" are presented. All the works are divided into different areas: design, websites, presentations, pictures, solutions in different programming languages.

Children can leave likes and comments on projects, add students from all over the world to friends and communicate with them, change the appearance of their avatar, fulfill various goals and receive prizes for achieving them.

Any child who has an account on the platform can become a member of the social network. You can get it for free by listening to a master class from Algorithmics experts, the press service said.

Moderators monitor the order in the network. Children receive a warning if they behave incorrectly, show aggression or use obscene language. In case of violations, children may be restricted in their ability to comment and publish projects. With each violation, the duration of the ban increases. The moderator also conducts a preventive conversation with the violator.

According to Algorithmics, children have already left 74 thousand likes, 90 thousand comments on more than 40 thousand educational projects. The projects have gained more than 225 thousand views.

In addition to the "Hall of Fame", there is an entertainment center on the platform. Every two or three weeks, new contests are launched there, educational content is released, projects of methodologists, logical tasks or discussions, for example, new films.

"Before the launch of the social network, only 10% visited the platform after hours. Since the fall of 2021, 70% of all Algorithmic students around the world have performed useful actions in the Hall of Fame. Thus, we have increased the retention metric by 7 times. Many parents even say that their children are now doing extracurricular projects instead of wasting time on computer games, so that they can then be put into the Hall of Fame," said Andrey Lobanov, the founder of Algorithmics.
