The Russian IT giant was headed by Artem Savinovsky, the company's press service said.

"Artem's candidacy was approved at a general meeting of Yandex LLC participants on Thursday, April 14. Previously Savinovsky was the acting general director - now he will hold this position on a permanent basis," reads the statement.

Savinovsky had been working at the company since 2008. Previously, he was in charge of financial reporting, analytics and planning. Savinovsky was involved in Yandex's preparations for the NASDAQ exchange and participated in the development of Taxi's development strategy. In 2016, he became head of media services. Savinovsky will combine the position of general director with his duties as head of media services.
