MTS is thinking about buying an Ivi online cinema
The Russian mobile operator MTS is negotiating the purchase of an online cinema Ivi, learned "Kommersant".
Ivi has about 15 shareholders-funds, among them - Baring Vostok, RTP Global, Flashpoint and VTB. The sources of the publication did not disclose what share MTS wants to buy in the online cinema. At the same time, experts estimate Ivi at 1-1.2 billion dollars.
The operator wanted to purchase Ivi even before the launch of its Kion video service in April last year, but the parties did not agree on the price. MTS' renewed interest in buying an online cinema may be due to the fact that Kion "has not yet met expectations," the newspaper's interlocutors believe.
