"Dodo Pizza" opened the first place in China

The Russian chain of restaurants "Dodo Pizza" opened a pizzeria in the Chinese city of Yantai, RBC writes with reference to the statement of the company's founder Fedor Ovichchnikov.

"We spent eight days exploring China, drove 2,500 km north from Hong Kong and today we finally reached Yantai in Shandong Province, where the first Dodo Pizza in China has been working for several days," he wrote on his Facebook page.

According to Ovchinnikov, while the network is advertised only in the messenger WeChat, but already has 50-60 customers per day. A second pizza restaurant is being built in Hangzhou City, he added.

"Dodo Pizza was founded in 2011, and the network's first establishments opened in Sykryvkar. Now, according to the company's website, there are 101 restaurants operating, including in Kazakhstan, Romania, Lithuania, Estonia and Uzbekistan.

In February 2016, the chain opened its first point in the USA. According to Ovchinnikov, in the next ten years, Dodo Pizza is going to open 400 outlets in the U.S. - both own and franchise. About $500,000 will be invested in the launch of the country's first chain. The company expects it to pay off in the summer of 2018. According to Ovchinnikov's plan, the monthly revenue of the point will reach $45,000 by July-August this year.
