Russian manufacturer of heat shields and fire barriers "SpetsPozhTech" in March 2019 received a patent of the Russian Federation for the useful model "Device for protection of the fireman from thermal radiation" (heat shield "Sogda" 1A.01).

"Sogda" 1A.01 is a movable shield, equipped with wheels, for maintaining maneuverability when performing combat operations with a firefighting gun, both manual and portable. This model of the shield is intended to protect the firemen from the thermal radiation when performing fire fighting with hand and portable fire-fighting guns.

Under the protection of the shield in case of a large fire, two people can extinguish the fire, cool the technological and other equipment, effectively using extinguishing and cooling agents, as well as perform emergency and rescue work. Increased reliability of design allows its use on large fires, provides a reduction of injury hazard when using it.

Heat shield "Sogda" 1A.01 was involved in a fire presentation at a special test site of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fire Defense of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia (VNIIPO), held in the framework of the conference "The state of fire protection of oil and oil products warehouses and directions of its improvement" in November 2019. When extinguishing the fire, "Sogda" 1B and "Sogda" 3 heat shields were also involved. An evacuation corridor was mounted from the "Sogda" 3 screens in close proximity to the fire to demonstrate the possibility of rescuing people from the fire area.

The event was attended by Alexander Chupriyan, First Deputy Minister of EMERCOM of Russia, representatives of Rosneft, Lukoil, Gazpromneft, Transneft, R&D, design and other organizations, as well as foreign guests.
