Russia and Japan intend to cooperate in the sphere of high technologies

Representatives of Russia and Japan discussed proposals for joint cooperation in the field of innovation during the meeting.

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia Oksana Tarasenko and Director General of the Trade and Information Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Keita Nishiyama took part in the negotiations.

Russia presented its own developments in innovation, health care, biotechnology and quantum technologies. According to Tarasenko, Russia presented projects that may be implemented in the future, which will have a positive impact on trade turnover between the two countries.

The representatives of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology of Japan also put forward their initiatives. Tarasenko made a proposal to create a project "road map" on the basis of joint requests. She also urged to organize a business-meeting in the nearest future and to invite there representatives of the high-tech enterprises and development institutes.

Most of all Moscow and Tokyo cooperate in the sphere of information and communication technologies, added the Deputy Minister. She expressed willingness to continue work in the said sphere, including the creation of digital economy and development of artificial intelligence.

In addition, one of the subjects of the meeting was cooperation, including cooperation between advanced technoparks and scientific research institutes to optimize the innovation ecosystem of the two countries.
