Sakhalin received new Ural Next fire trucks

Five new "Ural Next" special-purpose vehicles designed for extinguishing fires were delivered to Sakhalin, and three more will soon be received by the fire departments in the Kuril Islands.

The new Ural trucks are equipped with equipment that can be used also in case of an accident. Cisterns have a capacity of 6 tons of water. At that, each of the vehicles can be used both individually and as a pumping unit together with other cisterns when extinguishing fires with water or foam.

One of the main features of the new trucks is greater resistance to corrosion, which is extremely important in the climatic conditions of the islands. Cockpits and equipment storages are made of polymer materials. The engine power of these "Ural trucks" is 270 hp, which is 40 more than the previous ones.

According to Sergei Levchenko, Head of the Aniva fire department, the pumping capacity of the new vehicle reaches 70 liters of water per second, which is almost 2 times higher than in the past. In addition, the vehicle has a modern navigation system, and the gun carriage can be operated with a joystick directly from the cabin.

Levchenko also added that the cistern is made of high quality stainless steel, so if necessary, it can be used to deliver drinking water to residents.
