International Cancer Center appeared in Moscow

The Moscow International Cancer Center (MICC) was opened in the Russian capital, which was created by agreement between the regional authorities and one of the largest private medical organizations in the country.

The opening ceremony was attended by the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin.

He reminded that today life expectancy in the city is 80 years. This, he said, indicates that the load on oncology will become more intense every year. In this regard, the need for systems required for cancer treatment will increase.

The Mayor said that in Moscow a lot of money from city budget is invested into development of own system. This includes the development of material base and laboratories.

However, private investors are ready to invest in this sphere, for example, the European Medical Center, with the support of which the IMC has been opened.

Sobyanin noted that the new clinic has the equipment with the latest world technologies.

As Director General of the European Medical Center Andrei Yanovsky emphasized, patients may get medical care here free of charge based on the policy of compulsory health insurance. As early as this year more than 4.5 thousand people will be able to undergo radiation therapy as part of the basic program.

It should be pointed out that the investor has invested 1 billion rubles in the regional budget, and the total investment in the creation of the IMOC exceeds 6 billion rubles.

In the near future it is planned to open a round-the-clock in-patient clinic and a radionuclide diagnostics department, and by 2025 it is planned to serve as a basis for a multi-field medical center.
