A new alpine skiing track will be built in Russia

A new alpine skiing track will appear on Elbrus. At the moment the construction and assembly works have already begun.

The piste will have "red" level of difficulty and will be suitable for advanced lovers of active rest. The rocks are being processed at the moment and the preparations of the future slope are in progress.

The slope will be protected against avalanches with snow-retaining barriers next to the ski track.

The trail is expected to be opened for tourists as early as next winter season.

The start point will be more than 3.8 thousand meters high. Average width of the track will be 40 m and its length will be 1,5 km with altitude difference over 400 m.

According to Khasan Timizhev, General Director of Northern Caucasus Resorts, there is already one ski piste of the same level of complexity from Gara-Bashi, the starting point of the piste to be built, to Mir. After the launch of the new skiing road, this part of the slopes will become much more convenient for tourists.

Now there are more than 15 kilometers of skiing tracks and seven lifts at the disposal of skiers and snowboarders. Five years ago the third turn of the ropeway, which is the highest in Europe, was opened there. In the future, "Resorts of the North Caucasus" would like to create three more ropeways and nine more ski runs.

We would remind that on July 10 the resort "Elbrus" resumed its activity after the quarantine.
