Export of Russian products to South Africa peaked

In the first 6 months of this year, Russia tripled its grain shipments to South Africa. At the same time, Russia began to export to this country in the south of Africa products of deep processing, including flour, as well as beverages and disinfectants.

According to media reports, citing the Federal Customs Service of Russia, compared with the same period last year, the supply of cosmetics from Russia to South Africa increased by 540% in monetary terms. In addition, detergents were exported twice as much.

Sales of cereals tripled over the half year and accounted for approximately 30% of total Russian exports. Deliveries of oilseeds increased by 255%, and flour exports in monetary terms grew almost 7 times.

It should be noted that South Africa became one of the twenty countries where Russia began to sell domestic medicines against coronavirus.

Overall, according to the results for January-June this year, the trade turnover with South Africa exceeded $462 mln, while Russian shipments to this country increased by more than 36% up to $134 mln.
