Russian company Geropharm donated syringes and needles for diabetes patients to Venezuela

Russian biotech company Geropharm has sent 20,000 reusable syringe pens and the same number of needle packs to Venezuela. This was reported to the Made in Russia project by the company's press service.

The domestic company donated these medical products to help provide Venezuelan people with diabetes with insulin drugs.

It is worth noting that Geropharm does not manufacture its own needles, so the company bought them with its own money. This will provide each diabetic patient, who will receive a reusable syringe pen, with needles for safe administration of insulin for a long period of time.

The company has been the only supplier of these drugs in the country since last year. Currently, Venezuela has genetically engineered short- and medium-acting human insulin in vials and ultra-short- and long-acting insulin analogues in cartridges.

The Russian manufacturer supplies insulin to Venezuela in accordance with the approved schedule, while each time "Geropharm" supplies a larger amount of the drug, so that in case of unforeseen circumstances patients are not left without this vital medicine.

According to the press service, even during the coronavirus pandemic, supplies were not suspended.

"Geropharm", a Russian biotechnology company, is a leader in the development and production of insulin. Since the end of 2016, the company ranks first in terms of sales among manufacturers of genetically engineered human insulin and currently covers 36% of the RF demand for this drug.
