The Federal State Institution "Rechvodput" has signed a state contract which implies the construction of 13 service ships designed for routes through the country's inland waters.

The press-service of Rosmorrechflot says that the contract was signed after the repeated open tender. It is noted that the general contractor will be Kingisepp Machine Building Plant from St. Petersburg.

The transport is to be built under the federal project "Inner Waterways" within the framework of a comprehensive plan for the modernization and expansion of the mainline infrastructure up to 2024. According to the plans, the construction will be completed by the end of 2022.

The ships will maintain floating and onshore navigation and depth control signs to ensure the safety of navigation, including that of passenger waterway traffic. Besides, the new vessels will be used for intermittent transportation of non-self-propelled cargo vessels with displacement up to 400 tons by push-pull method.
