Session on oil and fats exports to India and China to be held on 10 September

Federal centre "Agroexport" and the Oil and Fat Union of the Russian Federation will hold a strategic session on the export of oil and fat products of domestic production to India and China on 10 September.

For the last two years China is the largest consumer of oil and fats products from Russia. On the whole over the last 4 years the volume of supplies to China has grown 6.5 times.

Last year, domestic companies began to actively strengthen in the Indian market as well. Thus, according to the results of 2019, this South Asian state for the first time entered the top ten largest customers of Russian oil and fat products, and in the first six months of this year, the country has risen to the third position. From January to June, China accounted for 23% of the total value of exports in this category, while India accounted for 8.4%.

During the event on September 10, "Agroexport" will present the main conclusions of the concept for the promotion of these products to China and India. The participants are to discuss business models of export development, ways to increase the competitiveness of the domestic fat-and-oil industry and problems the producers face.

Among the speakers of the session, to be held online, are Sergey Levin, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dmitry Krasnov, Head of Agroexport, and others.
