A stone laying ceremony for the construction of a seed plant was held in Pavlovsky District near Voronezh.

The enterprise will be built by the French company Lidea, which is one of Europe's leaders in seed production. The construction will cost 2.6 billion rubles.

It is worth mentioning that the climate in the mentioned region is favorable for seeds production. The company plans to produce about 10 thousand tons of oilseeds, including sunflower, corn and rape seeds per year. The implementation of the project will allow to create over 150 new working places.

As expected, the first phase will be implemented by 2023. The second stage of the construction with the doubling of the plant's capacity is planned for the period from 2024 to 2026.

The plant is to be built on a 100-hectare site, about 20 hectares of which will be used as storage space, and 80 hectares will be occupied by the agricultural research center.
