"Russian Creative Week" started on Friday in Moscow's Gorky Park.

The event is aimed at the development of creative industries in Russia and was organized by Roskulttsentr, Innosocium Foundation and Russian Book Union. The project is supported by the Presidential Grants Foundation.

The event covers 14 different areas, one of which is art. In particular, the lecture program focuses on the development of contemporary art in our country, including the regions, where the process of building the infrastructure of exhibition venues, art centers and galleries continues over the past two decades.

According to Mykola Palazhchenko, curator of this direction, there is a new round of generational change in art. For instance, the expert noted that a new generation of artists and curators for whom the sense of context is an important component, has become increasingly important.

He explained that, on the one hand, the new generation has found itself in a close connection with the history of national art, and, on the other hand, there is a need to be part of a larger international contemporary art system.

As part of the direction on art, the event will include presentations of new regional initiatives, including the Vologda and Krasnodar projects.

The visitors will have a possibility to visit the master-classes of the artist Misha Most, ZIP art group, micro-art group "Ustinov City" and others.

Entrance to the event is free, preliminary registration is required.
