AEM Technologies, an enterprise of state corporation Rosatom, will supply to Bangladesh a set of steam generators intended for the first nuclear power plant (NPP) Ruppur, which is under construction in the country.

The shipment was carried out, among other things, together with the delivery of the nuclear reactor vessel.

The equipment was first shipped from the plant site to the pier, from where it will be sent to Novorossiysk by barge and then the products will be shipped to Bangladesh by sea. The sea route will be about 14 thousand kilometers.

Now the Russian company has shipped the main equipment of the reactor plant for the first unit of the NPP.

Note that the steam generator is a product of the first safety class. Its diameter exceeds 4 meters, and its length is about 14 meters. Weight of the equipment is 340 tons. The equipment casing is designed as a horizontal cylindrical vessel with two elliptical bottoms; in its central part there are collectors for delivery and withdrawal of hot heat carrier, and in its lower part there is a heat exchange surface consisting of 11 thousand stainless pipes with total length of almost 130 km. One power unit includes steam generators.
