New Industry Venture Fund is investing in the creation of the country's first serial downhole tractor designed for the oil industry. Production will be launched next year, and subsequent models will be manufactured until 2024.

The Fund will allocate 160 million rubles for this project.

Such machinery is used during the delivery of tools and equipment to the horizontal sections of oil wells for technological servicing, repairs and geophysical surveys.

The enterprise has already produced a prototype and conducted bench tests. The company will produce four modifications of the tractor within four years.

The Russian tractor will cost half as much as a foreign tractor.
