Delicacy Mediterranean grape snails have started to be bred in the Stavropol Territory. For this purpose, two tonnes of clams were imported from Lebanon, and the breeding technology was taken from Cyprus.

The meat they will be bred in Russia has a distinctive flavour, and it grows three times faster than ordinary grape snails.

Two 500m² greenhouses are already in place; the necessary equipment to maintain temperature and high humidity has been purchased.

It is expected that with time, production will reach a volume of around 100 thousand tons per year. There will also be workshops for the processing and storage of products in the future.

Apart from that, entrepreneurs want to sell not only delicious meat, but also snails for breeding in the future. Environmental companies from the Moscow region, Novgorod and Krasnodar have already expressed their interest.
