Russia exported nearly $21bn worth of agricultural goods in 2020, said Dmitry Patrushev, head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

Last year, exports during the same period were $3.3bn lower.

He noted that another $5 billion worth of products will be shipped abroad by the end of this year.

According to Patrushev, 18 new items have been added to the list of goods of the agro-industrial complex, which are sold on foreign markets. Overall, the country supplies its own food industry and agricultural products to 160 countries. A network of representatives of the Ministry in 50 countries is being created to promote products.

Today, the main buyer of domestic food is China ($2.8 billion), followed by Turkey ($2.2 billion), Korea ($1.14 billion), Kazakhstan ($1.14 billion) and Egypt ($1.11 billion).

It is also worth noting that food imports in Russia decreased by 1.6%, with over $20 bln spent on food purchases, almost unchanged over the year.
