The company "Lark XXI Century" has improved its own development of the speed limiter (SLD) "Reliable Control 80" in the direction of the intelligent speed assistant. Now it is possible to program up to six speed limit thresholds, connect the limiter to the CAN-bus of the car to read speed data, as well as data on unfastened seat belts, open doors, active engine errors, as well as limiting the possibility of harsh driving style.

Modern cars are equipped with a large number of electronic control units of various systems: engine control, anti-lock brakes, headlights, body and others. The CAN-bus, through which the exchange of information signals between the electronic units of the vehicle takes place, is responsible for the interaction between these systems. Therefore, the next step in the development of the company's development was its modification, which allows these information signals to be read directly from the CAN line.

"Due to safety requirements imposed by manufacturers, we cannot directly connect to the CAN line and send any electrical request signals, as this would affect the operation of the vehicle systems. The solution to this problem was the contactless connection of the CAN-reader, which only removes the electrical signal from the line, and the algorithm UOS subsequently processes and recognizes it. Thus, we considerably enlarged the functional of the speed limiter - now it is capable of processing and generating control signals depending on any requirements of the controlling operator or the head of the transport company," said the representative of the company.

The updated device now has a number of new opportunities for speed limit signals: signals Check Engine, low oil level or coolant, critical indicators of engine temperature sensors, indicators of other faults, seat belt signal, open door signal, tire pressure sensors, passenger presence indication, any other signals that require speed limit, or exclude the possibility of movement in principle, based on the wishes of the customer.

"Our company is constantly working to improve the quality and increase the functionality of the speed limiter "Reliable Control-80". New engineering and software developments are underway, which will further improve road safety," the company added.

According to the traffic police, in 2019 in Russia there were more than 164 thousand road accidents, in which about 17 thousand people died, injured more than 200 thousand. Speeding is the most common type of traffic violation. Excessive speed is an underlying factor in many car accidents - up to 17% of the total number of accidents on the road, and accidents where one or more people die account for an even greater number. Reducing the maximum speed of a vehicle to the values allowed by the regulations will reduce the likelihood of accidents and cases of serious and fatal accidents.

The main difference between the speed limiting device "Reliable Control 80" by "Skylark XXI Century" and other similar speed control systems is not the reporting on the violation, but the forced speed limitation - not a passive, but an active system of speed limitation to a safe one - prevents the violation at all.

The work of the speed limiting device of "Zharovonok XXI Century" has proved to be beneficial for vehicles of any type: trucks and cars, forklifts, tractors, warehouse forklifts, electric cars.

Constructive conditions for installation objects are also quite wide: carburetor petrol engines, engines with direct fuel injection, diesel engines, engines with gas equipment, vehicles with electronic accelerator pedal, vehicles with mechanical accelerator pedal.

The first versions of Reliable Control 80 included functionality to limit vehicle speed to pre-programmed settings. For example, the total limit of a truck transporting dangerous goods at 50 km / h.

"For an OOS, speed readings are just an electrical signal that can be received from any other element of the vehicle other than the speed sensor. These can be signals of low oil level or critical engine speed, unbuckled seat belt, open doors, low tire pressure and more," the company explained.
