"International Genealogy Center became an alumnus of the first acceleration program of GoGlobal

Russia's largest family history restoration company International Genealogical Center (MGC) became one of 20 companies participating in the first enrollment in the GoGlobal acceleration program organized jointly by the FRII Accelerator and the Moscow Export Center (MEC). The goal of the program is to help companies with IT products to enter international markets.

"Russian IT teams are known in the international market for their strong technological expertise, but many founders have not yet tried their hand at development in new markets. The teams' results confirmed that our joint program gives a good start for business development abroad and helps to avoid painful mistakes that prevent Russian entrepreneurs from realizing their global ambitions," - Dmitry Kalaev, CEO of FRII Accelerator.

In spring 2020, 364 Moscow companies applied to participate in the first stream of the GoGlobal program, 20 were selected, among which was MGC with its online service for self-study of family history and drawing up a family tree "Family Tree". The main goal of team's participation in GoGlobal was to prepare the product for entering international market, better understand their foreign audience and make first sales.

In 3 months of work, it was possible to achieve remarkable results in the estimation of the foreign market potential, formation of the user product, development of the business model and strategy of development for the next 5 years.

The business model was based on the Uber principle. The marketplace of the Femiri service acts as an aggregator of user-researcher tasks for freelance historians and genealogists, who deduct a commission from each service rendered. In the process of acceleration it was possible to launch the marketplace, learn how to quickly attract the right number of experts to implement the posted tasks, as well as to develop and run HR-bot to assess their qualifications. Moreover, the service of automatic sending of requests to archives and the bot-interviewer (in a test mode for now) are already available for users.

In total, during the acceleration period GoGlobal sent 337 automatic requests to the service site "Family", have registered 1,700 users, including from the U.S., Canada, Germany, Britain, Israel, France and Spain.

The creator of "Family" Artem Maratkanov is confident that his unique service will change the world market of mass genealogy by providing the opportunity to conduct independent research online, while not losing in quality and significantly saving user's money. By 2025 he expects the service to take 4% of the international genealogy market.
