Dairy products are to be labelled from next year. Such a proposal is spelled out in the road map drawn up by Russian ministries.

The government is expected to approve the exact timing of the labeling.

The Voronezh company EkoNiva has already agreed to participate in the experiment. Other regions have started working on labelling projects.

According to the mass media, three years ago St. Petersburg supplier of dairy products "Galaktika" launched the "Check" project with a QR code which enabled any consumer to get complete information on the products of milk. The system is based on blockchain technology. It means that at the moment of shipment a unique code is assigned to each batch of milk. Based on this code, a given batch can be tracked in the "Check" system.

The system is expected to be integrated with another labeling system, Fair Mark, in the near future.
