Leonid Rink, one of the developers of the Novichok warfare system, plans to soon release an antiviral and immunomodulatory agent, Immofon, against coronovirus and a number of other viral diseases.

The drug, according to Rink, acts against viral diseases and restores cells after the work of the immune system. In other words, it eliminates cytokine storm - the immune system's destruction of its own body. This is why, as many experts believe, COVID sufferers die, RIA Novosti reported.

Diucifon, used to treat leprosy, was taken as the basis for the drug. The scientist noted that until the 2000s, the drug was on the list of life-saving medicines. In the case of the new drug, it has eliminated the main drawback - poor solubility in water and, consequently, in the blood plasma.

Inside the new drug combined a strong imported antiviral drug "Dapsone" and two molecules of methyluracil, which help to activate tissue metabolism and initiate the regeneration process.

Immaphone can also be used to treat lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, allergies, leukemia and lung diseases.

The scientists said that testing has now been carried out on 700 elderly volunteers, none of whom have had a severe stage or death after infection.

At the moment, his company InterVita is producing pilot batches of the new drug to study its effect in different pathologies. At the same time, talks are underway with the Ministry of Health and other regulators to supply pre-filled syringes and droppers to the market.

The cost of one dose of the drug will be about 1 thousand roubles. A large number of investors are ready to finance the industrial production, said Rink.
