Shvabe, a Rostec plant, supplied photometers for COVID-2019 tests to CIS countries

Shvabe Holding's Moscow plant has sent tablet photometers to Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, using which immunoassay (ELISA) tests for coronavirus and antibodies to it are conducted.

The devices have an open system that allows them to work with different tests and a laboratory doctor can describe and store up to 200 tests in the device's memory.

The devices help determine qualitative and quantitative indicators of low molecular weight compounds, macromolecules, viruses based on a specific antigen-antibody reaction. Viruses are neutralized as a result of this reaction, virulent bacteria are immobilized and toxins are bound. For example, in this way the antibody content of the tested serum is established.

The ELISA method, according to the General Director of the plant, is the most modern method of investigation and one of the most actively developing areas of chemical enzymology. Such tests are used to detect coronavirus or the presence of antibodies to it. This photometer automatically processes up to 96 samples simultaneously.
