The Russian specialists have designed the demonstrator of the power structure of the wing of the perspective nine-seat airplane of the small aviation from the domestic polymeric composites.

The developer was the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Zhukovsky.

The specialists faced the task to find out how much it is possible to replace the imported materials, which are used now, with the Russian ones. The Institute produced over 400 samples to determine the strength of the materials in an expeditious manner. The researches showed that the Russian materials correspond in their qualities to the foreign ones and, therefore, can be used in the design of the wing of a small aircraft.

Such tests formed the basis for the development of the power structure made of spars and ribs. This year the new wing design will be tested for strength.

The Institute created such a demonstrator for the first time. In its manufacture the caisson panels (integral triple-layered skin), for example, used the method of vacuum infusion.
