A network of 53 satellite data collection stations was created in Russia

"Russian Space Systems (RSC) has created a network of 53 unified measurement collection stations, which will be used to accumulate data from navigation satellites. The network will also be used to process and provide corrective data to consumers in Russia and CIS countries.

For this purpose, the company has completed the ground infrastructure of the high-precision wide-area functional augmentation of the global navigation satellite systems on the basis of the differential correction and monitoring system development.

There are now 46 stations in Russia. The last one was put into operation in Ekaterinburg. In addition, four stations were constructed in the CIS countries and three in Antarctica.

The high-precision wide-area functional augmentation complex of global navigation satellite systems is an important element of improving the accuracy of the GLONASS system. All navigation information received by the stations is transmitted to processing centers.

Due to the new augmentation, the efficiency of the navigation services will increase considerably, said Deputy General Designer of ground-based systems and civil complexes of RKS Vladimir Denezhkin. Application of the new equipment reduces positioning errors, making it more reliable.

The unified measurement stations receive the open radio navigation signals GLONASS and signals of the foreign navigation satellite systems and provide users with additional information allowing to increase accuracy and reliability of positioning speed, precise time reference and spatial coordinates.
