Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin and China National Space Administration (CNSA) head Zhang Kejian have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the creation of the International Lunar Science Station (ILSS), Roscosmos and CNSA said on Tuesday.

According to the message, the state corporation and CNSA will promote the interaction on the creation of the lunar station with open access to all interested countries and international partners. It is noted that such activities are aimed at strengthening research cooperation, promoting the exploration and application of space "for peaceful purposes in the interests of all mankind."

CNSA said China and Russia will use their experience and scientific technology to create a roadmap for the construction of an international research station on the moon.

The two sides will jointly study the surface of the natural earth satellite and implement projects on the moon's orbit.
