Russian company supplied 70 gondola cars to Armenia

"South Caucasus Railway (SCR) has commissioned 70 new gondola cars, which were delivered to Armenia by Uralvagonzavod, according to the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The 29 new gondola cars, for example, are now used to transport copper concentrate from Yerevan to the Georgian port of Poti. The first loading took place in late February.

The Armenian company plans to fully renew the fleet of freight gondola cars by 2024.

"South Caucasus Railway is a subsidiary of Russian Railways and operates Armenian railways. The railway infrastructure of Armenia was put under concession management of South Caucasus Railway in February 2008 for 30 years with the right of prolongation for 10 more years.
