Agreements on oil and sugar prices extended in Russia

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a decree which prolongs the government's agreements on stabilization of sunflower oil and sugar prices.

As it follows from the Cabinet of Ministers' release, the agreements expired on 1 April. This could trigger an increase in prices of these products.

Thus, the document on sugar prices was extended until June 1, and on butter - until October 1.

In December, the Government announced the conclusion of agreements with producers as measures to curb the rise in the cost of products. In particular, documents prescribed the marginal wholesale and retail prices: Br36 per kilogram for sugar in wholesale and Br46 in retail, sunflower oil - Br95 and Br110 respectively.

The country also increased export duties on a number of crops, created instruments to support flour mills and bakeries, and improved its price monitoring system.
