A branch of AEM Technologies, a Rosatom company, put into operation a portal semi-automatic band saw machine. Thanks to the new equipment, the productivity of cutting operations has doubled, while labor intensity has been reduced by 65% and the cycle of manufacturing pipe assemblies and collector bodies has been reduced.

The equipment is used, for example, for cutting off rings from billets and cladded pipes of the main circulation pipeline or billets of the bodies of the main circulation pump units.

In the past, heavy-duty lathes or horizontal boring mills were used for this purpose.

The commissioning of the new equipment also made it possible to reduce costs for energy, repair and maintenance.
