The Russian Ministry of Agriculture will conduct an experiment on traceability of pesticides and agrochemicals in commodities before the traceability system of Rosselkhoznadzor is put into operation.

This is done in order to work out all technological solutions for creation of transparency in the industry.

We would remind you that last year the country adopted a federal law to improve governmental control over safe handling of pesticides and agrochemicals. This decision was taken due to the fact that in Russia, state authorities, having the authority to register pesticides, are not able to control pesticides and agrochemicals in the import, production and turnover within the country, as well as to suppress the use of counterfeit and adulterated products.

This causes economic losses for bona fide producers of crop protection products and farmers, the environmental situation in the country and human health, according to the press service of Deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko.
