Moscow Region strives to become a leader in berry production in Russia
The Moscow Region plans to become Russia's leader in industrial berry production in 2023. Sergey Voskresensky, the region's minister of agriculture and food, said.
"Industrial berry production is a new trend in Moscow Region's agriculture. At the moment the share of our production is 7%," Voskresensky said at the meeting of Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov with the heads of the regional government and heads of districts.
Already in 2021 and 2022 authorities of Moscow Region will put into operation several greenhouse complexes, which will produce about 7 thousand tons of berry products annually.
"By 2023, we plan to increase this share to 50% and take first place in the Russian Federation," the minister added.
