Technonikol, an international manufacturer of construction materials, will launch Russia's first PVC-membrane production for tunnels and underground structures, the company's press service said to the Made in Russia project.

Besides, the enterprise will produce PVC-based geocomposite for waterproof structures insulation.

The annual production volume on the new line will be 5 million square meters of the finished product. The project cost will exceed 450 million rubles.

The company told that the geocomposite on the base of PVC will replace imported analogues that are used during the construction and repair of e.g. dams, dikes and piers. With the help of this material it is possible to remediate reservoirs without lowering the water level or to restore the waterproofing of the power plant without loss of productivity in electricity generation.

"Flooding of underground car parks especially after heavy rains has become a common occurrence for residents, while it takes several weeks to eliminate the consequences. To solve this problem, we have offered developers a fundamentally new solution based on PVC membranes, which can guarantee 100% waterproofing for the entire cycle of ownership of the building", - said the operating director of "Polymer membranes and PIR" Evgeny Spiryakov.

The line was built using energy efficient technology, so it does not have a negative impact on the environment. There is an enhanced filtration system for air aspiration, which captures and absorbs dust.

According to co-owner of the company Sergey Kolesnikov, Technonikol will allocate about 50 billion rubles to construction of new plants, reconstruction of existing facilities and implementation of large-scale environmental projects in Russia and abroad within the framework of the investment program by 2025. For example, in the next three years the company will start producing protective and drainage profiled membranes and launch a unique PVC roofing membrane recycling site.

To date, the company has 56 production sites in seven countries, including the UK, Germany and Italy. Tekhnonikol also has six in-house research centres that develop new products and solutions for the construction industry.

The company exports products to 116 countries. At the end of last year, revenues amounted to almost 113 billion rubles.
