Mandatory labeling of ice cream and cheese started in Russia on June 1

A government decree has come into force which requires producers of cheese and ice cream to label their products.

To date, 85% of producers of cold delicacies and 100% of producers of cheese have registered and registered their products in the state labeling system "Honest Mark", said the operator of labeling - the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CDAT).

In January, it was possible to label dairy products voluntarily, and then 85% of producers of ice cream and 100% of cheese producers joined the system.

More than 820 companies ordered more than one billion codes. Integrators and printers confirmed their readiness for labeling. The system, as noted by the Center, copes with the high load and works without delays or disruptions. Last week, for example, the load increased eightfold, while it took less than 10 minutes to process 99% of the documents.

Manufacturers can contact the helpdesk, which has been put on heightened alert, if necessary. Systematic and personalized work is carried out with each company in the product group.

For this purpose, the CRPT experts visited almost a hundred sites in 30 regions, where they held more than 300 events and sent 1.2 thousand letters to producers of cheese and ice cream, notifying them about the enactment of labeling.

Deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Viktor Evtukhov said that all participants of the turnover were informed about the preservation of the terms of mandatory labeling of dairy products.

"We are actively preparing for the launch of the system and we see that most companies have already connected and set up all the processes," he said, adding that spot work is carried out with producers who started preparing late for inclusion in the labeling system and department representatives are in touch with them around the clock.
