The self-employed regime was introduced in Russia as an experiment in 2019. From January 1, 2019, the self-employed regime started to work in Moscow, Tatarstan, Moscow and Kaluga regions. From July 1, 2020, all constituent entities of the Russian Federation were able to introduce this regime on their territory. It stipulates that citizens providing paid services without hired employees and having income up to 2.4 million rubles should pay 4% of their income to the budget when working with individuals and 6% - when working with companies. At the same time, taxes are paid only when income is available.
