Businesses in Russia received RUB 41 billion in preferential loans for digital transformation

Russian entrepreneurs have received preferential loans for implementation of domestic digital solutions in the amount of 41 billion roubles since the programme was launched. This was announced by Maxim Parshin, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.

"Digitalization is one of the few resources for the development of small and medium entrepreneurship, increasing productivity and the source of its competitiveness. After all, an entrepreneur competes not only with another businessman, but also with big business and with state business. But small and medium-sized businesses simply have no money - we have to pay wages, pay rent, and it's very difficult to allocate resources for this. So we have to help here. We have a programme which we have launched. This is preferential lending for digitalization. It is a loan for implementing domestic solutions in your business, for digital transformation. A preferential loan at a preferential rate of up to 5%. We have already granted such credits for 41 billion rubles, the average rate is 2,63%", - said Parshin at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum-2021.

He said that small business shows great demand for concessional lending. The deputy minister recalled that earlier the minimum loan amount was reduced from 25 to 5 million rubles. The programme currently involves 15 banks.

The program of concessional lending for digitalization of companies has been in force in Russia since 2020. The main funding requirement is the use of digital domestic products, software and hardware complexes, software and services. At least 70% of expenditures must be allocated for this. The program is expected to last until 2024.
