The oldest self-employed person in Russia is 96 years old: the Federal Tax Service has presented a "portrait" of the self-employed

Around 80,000 self-employed people in Russia are over 60 years old, with the oldest being 96 years old. The head of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) Daniil Egorov told about it within the framework of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum - 2021.

"We already have 2.4 million people (self-employed - ed.) who showed more than 430 billion (rubles - ed.) income, it is already more than 12 billion rubles of taxes. We already have more than 30 thousand self-employed people under 17 years old, the most of them are in the Magadan Oblast. Our youth is the most active there. We have the oldest self-employed - 96 years old, over 60 years old - 79 thousand people", - Egorov told during the session "Digital services for business".

According to him, the majority of the self-employed in Russia (61%) are men, their income from the total number of self-employed is 67%. 39% of the self-employed, respectively, are women. Their income accounts for 33% of the total income of the self-employed.

According to the Federal Tax Service, the principal jobs of women are "manicure", "pedicure", "nanny", "stylist", "confectioner", "grooming", "accountant", "grooming", "fashion designer", "tutor". Men have "car repair", "plumber", "appliance repair", "towing", "towing", "maintenance", "loader", "electrician".

"So far, the professions are very clearly gendered," said the head of the agency.

According to Egorov, the most "female" regions are Buryatia, the Trans-Baikal Territory, Altai, Kurgan region, "male" regions are Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Dagestan, Voronezh region and Kabardino-Balkaria.
