The Finnish company Fodesko-MAK will build a new factory in the Tver region and will become one of the first residents of the innovative industrial park "Borovlevo-3", according to the press service of the regional government.

Under the agreement signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the foreign company will construct a high-tech plant that will manufacture components for molds and dies, and engage in high-precision machining. The construction is planned to start next year.

As Igor Rudenya, the Governor of the Region, stated that the regional economy remained maximally open during the pandemic: The production facilities kept operating and this allowed small businesses to keep working. Now, he said, the authorities continue to cooperate with investors.

Last year, the Finnish company, despite the pandemic, managed to increase its exports. For example, the manufacturer produced mold blocks for covid tests and supplied them to Russia and Europe, said Denis Panchenko, general director of Fodesco-MAK.

"Placing capacities at the Borovlevo-3 site, I think, will give a serious boost to development. Thus, all communications will be provided. We have never had such advantageous offer during our work in Tver region," he said.

The residents of "Borovlevo-3" will be able to benefit from the state support measures, including preferential tax treatment, exemption from land and property taxes as well as profit tax reduction.

The company for over 20 years is part of the machine building complex of the Tver region and manufactures products for the aircraft industry, automotive industry and medicine. The company is a sub-supplier for manufacturers of plastic, rubber, non-ferrous metals and metalworking machinery in Russia and abroad.
